Quality health care matters!
Calgary Elder Care was recently accredited as a result of a thorough assessment of its services by surveyors from Accreditation Canada.
The survey team spent 2 ½ days at our office and in the field, evaluating it against national standards. Calgary Elder Care voluntarily participated in the accreditation process to improve the quality of the services provided to clients.
“Quality and safety are extremely important to everyone who works here” said Randall Parsons, Director of Operations, of Calgary Elder Care. “These results demonstrate our commitment to quality initiatives that make our clients safer.”
Accreditation involves assessing processes that Calgary Elder Care has in place, to ensure that we are providing the best quality of care and services to our clients.
There are a number of components to accreditation against which we measure our quality efforts, including standards and Required Organizational Practices. These were assessed when the surveyors met with staff, clients and their families at Calgary Elder Care.
“We participate in accreditation because we believe that quality and safety matter to our clients and their families,” added Jean Clarke, RN Educator at Calgary Elder Care. “We believe that improving the quality of our care is a continuous journey – a journey to which we are fully committed.”
Accreditation Canada has been helping organizations improve their quality and safety for over 55 years. Calgary Elder Care will continue to work with Accreditation Canada on its quality journey.
